MARY SIDNEY
The Mary Sidney Society
The authorship of the works attributed to William Shakespeare has been questioned for centuries, including during his lifetime. This debate has been growing in importance in recent years. Please join us in looking at the possibility that these incandescent works were actually written by a remarkable and well-educated woman who was at the forefront of the literary world in Elizabethan and Jacobean England.
TheMary Sidney Society is an educational and literary organization founded on the premise that Mary Sidney Herbert, Countess of Pembroke, wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare.
To this end, the Mary Sidney Society is dedicated to supporting research about and promoting widespread interest in the life and work of Mary Sidney and her relationship to the plays and sonnets.
We also encourage reading and exploration of the Shakespearean works themselves.
